Description

#3408        M-2795         F.M. LOCKE  (dates)      VICTOR    NOV 17 1900         Aqua and tan.

Large, two part unit measuring 11-1/2" tall,  the top porcelain section measuring 11" across.

These impressive, high voltage insulators appeal to both glass and porcelain collectors, so they're currently in great demand.

"Gutter Tops" were used at various locations, the vast majority of surviving examples found in California.

The glass sleeve is boldly embossed " LOCKE'S PAT'S   DEC. 15 - 96   JUNE 7 -98."  The top porcelain section has an incuse Locke marking with multiple dates and a second "Victor" marking with the 1900 date.

Glass sleeve was broken in two pieces and glued.  Penny size chip at base, where the two glass pieces came together.  Porcelain section was broken into five pieces and professionally re-assembled.  It looks great with mostly unnoticeable junctures.

Gutter Tops have seen heightened interest lately, and values have increased dramatically.
