Description

#3450      CD 105      AM. INS. CO.      PAT SEP 13 1881      Aqua.

Wire ridges on the CD 105 “American” pony have a rather peculiar shape, unlike that found on any other pony style insulator.

Most likely produced shortly after the granting of Oakman’s 1881 patent, this is probably one of the earlier designs manufactured with the American insulator Company marking. Some examples of this type insulator are believed to have possibly been produced at a glass factory in Ellenville, New York. Other insulator styles made for the American Insulator Company are known to have been produced by a glass company in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, suggesting another possible manufacturer of this design.

No chips or flakes on base, so the embossing is fully intact.  Light wear and small flakes on portions of the wire ridges, but not chipped like many examples of this design.  Faint bruise on dome is pinkie nail size.

Buy-Now Price: $160

BUY-NOW lots are subject to the normal 12% buyer premium, added to the Buy-Now price.

Nearly all lots in this event are obtainable using two different purchase methods.  A bidder has the option of bidding on these lots at the current next raise as an auction item.  Or, you may make an instant purchase by clicking the "BUY-NOW" area, positioned just below the green "SUBMIT BID" button.

A reserve has been set on Buy-Now lots.  Once the reserve amount has been met, the Buy-Now option will no longer be available.

Buy-Now and auction purchases will be invoiced via email by mid day Wednesday, October 25.  Invoices will also be viewable to purchasers on the auction site at that time by clicking the "MY ACCOUNT" tab on the upper portion of the auction page.
