#3605 CD 642 VA "Gingerbread Man." Olive.
Height: 5-5/8 inches. Known as the "Gingerbread Man."
Very attractive olive coloration with amber influence. Color is quite similar to the CD 640 in the previous lot. Large examples in this color are even more difficult to obtain than the smaller "boys."
A glass factory by the name of La Verrerie Ouvriere d’Albi was formed in1896 in the town of Albi, France. Bottles were produced at the glasshouse for a number of years. In 1917, the factory began making insulators for the French National Defense. Various insulators were manufactured at the plant, including the CD 642 Gingerbread Men with VA marking.

A wide range of colors were manufactured in insulators with "VA" marking, and the group of five in this auction is a great opportunity for both the novice and advanced collector. Both very affordable and very rare items are represented.
