Description

#3614        FOL.      Green.

Ears measure 2-3/8 inches across.

Weak embossing is positioned upside down at center of the body.

This rarely encountered French produced insulator has quite an unusual design, the ears being similar in appearance to a wing-nut or a "Columbia" insulator.

The second photo, from a 1910-1911 Folembray catalogue, shows a single wing version of this design, designated as model No 543.  The double wing example, like this lot, also in the same catalogue, described as model No 553.  Photo courtesy Lis Bergman.

Flange at bottom of skirt has a bruise emanating from the outside base corner.  The photo shows this to the front (does not extend beyond the flange).  The other side has a perfect display, with no damage.
