The "6" is inverted.
Known as the "Blob-Top," these early threaded insulators were produced by Brookfield in a wide variety of green shades/tones. This one has some fine amber streaks within, creating extra brightness and zing!
Production of this style started in the 1870's and continued for decades, into the 21st century. The Western Union Telegraph Company used a "Standard" insulator on most of their new line construction and rebuilds of old lines. The design preferred by W.U.T. Co changed every few years, and for a period of time the CD 126 was their preferred model.
Strength of embossing varies, some is strong while some areas are weaker, but nearly all readable.
Wonderful, sparkling condition.... easily grades very near mint (or better).
