Description

#3716        CD 140        Unmarked.        Olive green.

Beautiful coloration in this impressively large, power glass insulator that towers six inches tall!

All "Jumbo" insulators within the green spectrum have become very difficult to locate in the past few years, and this is one of the more difficult color tones to acquire.

The colored, unmarked Jumbo insulators were discovered decades ago..... used by the mass transit system in the Boston area.  Decades ago, they appeared regularly at shows, but in recent years, they have all but vanished!

This beauty, along with another different green example, were obtained by a non-collecting individual, decades ago in the Boston area.  He gifted them to a bottle collecting friend in New York state.  Later, both were sold through Pole Top Discoveries' Summer, 1988 Catalogue of Scarce & Rare Insulators.  Since that time, more than 35 years have passed, all the while the insulator has remained locked in one collection!

Dome top has flat wear.  Spotty, high point wear/scuffing from dome top to the wire ridge.  Flake below the wire groove is a little smaller than a pinkie nail. Flash, up from the base, traverses 5/8" on the inside surface and 1" on the outside.  Displays great!
