The purple coloration is more "grape" toned than a typical purple example. Most purple insulators have a stronger reddish tone, whereas this one leans more toward blue on the spectrum.
A very small number of these "pony" style insulators with grape toning have blue patches and streaks mixed within the glass. This one has subtle blue contamination... less so than a couple examples with more pronounced mixes that we've sold in the past. For that reason, the opening bid amount is lower than would be expected for those with a more pronounced mix.
Open bubble on wire ridge. Remainder of insulator is very near mint.
