Description

#3760        CD 135       CHI. INS. CO.      PATD OCT. 16. 1883.       Blue aqua.

An abundance of milky opaque impurities and bubbles add attractive character.

Shoulder embossing on this unusually designed insulator, possibly produced at a glassworks in Ellenville, New York.

A uniquely designed insulator with diamond shaped cutouts within the body, creating less contact between the tie wire and the insulator surface.

Examples have been found in New York State, Illinois and Nebraska.  Some were also seen on poles in Panama many years ago.  However, the majority of those now in collections were recovered in Mexico.

Clean, flat, fingernail chip on top of dome.  Flat chip traverses 20% of base.  Displays great!
