#3839 735 U.P.R.R. MULFORD & BIDDLE. Teal.
A different teal shade than Lot #3699, this one being somewhat lighter and less blue.
Produced for use along the historic, first transcontinental railroad line in America, completed in 1869. The richly colored teal examples are rarely encountered, even much more difficult to obtain than the popular "cobalt" and other exotic blue examples. They have only occasionally surfaced in Wyoming.
Sizable but shallow chip, down the dome side and a stress fracture from base to dome, can both be seen in the first photo. Remainder of insulator is quite nice, especially for this type item. Mulford & Biddle side displays excellent.
