Description

#3871     PATENTED    JOBSON BROS    DUDLEY.         Brown stoneware.    

Insulator height: 4-1/4 inches. Height of insulator and pin: 8-3/4 inches.  

Never cleaned, still retaining attractive surface grime.  Mounted on original iron pin.

The insulator is made of stoneware.  The inner shed is made of white porcelain.

Identical to the example shown on page 59 of W. Keith Neal's book titled Searching For Railway Telegraph Insulators.  Neal indicates this item dates from 1876 to 1884.

Excellent condition with no damage.  Iron pin has surface rust.
