Description

#3228       CD 130      CAL. ELEC. WORKS.        Green.

Attractive green shade!  These "minty green" units are seldom encountered, with only a handful confirmed in the hobby.  Extra character is added with a couple fine, opaque, olive-amber streaks in the skirt, carbon veil above the pinhole and some very small bubbles within the glass.

Produced for the California Electrical Works, circa late 1870's - early 1880's.

Large, strong embossing.

The base has only a very thin, match head flake. The wire ridges are damage free!  Has a fabulous overall appearance.  Closer examination reveals a flat chip (approx 5¢ coin size) on the right side dome has been professionally repaired (positioned at center of dome in second image).

Quite an attractive item that opens at a fraction of the amount one might expect to pay for a very near mint example!
