Description

#3524      CD 342      LOCKE    NO 25       (multiple dates).       Aqua.

An extremely impressive multipart, power glass insulator!  Boldly embossed with numerous patent dates on the upper skirt, and two additional dates on the glass sleeve.

Among the most desirable insulators for a power glass collector, these large, impressive units produced by Brookfield, are few and far between.  Measures 10 inches in height and the top shell is 11 inches across.

They have been found (usually shattered into many pieces) along the route of a 1904 power line constructed partly through rugged terrain in Colorado.  The line operated between the Skagway powerhouse and the city of Pueblo, where the electric current was used for operation of the street railway system.

Complete with original Portland cement and original fluted, iron pin.

Examples of the glass Locke 25 very rarely appear for sale, especially in fabulous condition.  This gem is one of very few known without damage!  A dazzler in very near mint+ condition.  WOW!

Check out the multitude of boldly embossed patent dates in the second and third photos !!!!!
