Description

#3635        CD 132       PATENT DEC.19. 1871.      2        Rich teal

Collectors often refer to the dark "teal aqua" 1871 patent dated insulators produced by Hemingray as being "teal."  This dazzling gem truly is a "real teal," having stronger bluish tones in the teal than any 1871 dated insulator we've ever encountered!

A beautiful color that deserves special attention by anyone interested in bullets or 1871 specialty collectors.  To date, the only example we've ever encountered in this attractive color.  Would look fabulous setting next to a purple 1871 bullet, as the two colors compliment each other extremely well.

Vivid, bright glass.  Large, fancy, script "2" on reverse dome.

Exceptional, very, very near mint condition.

Formerly in the Dick Bowman collection, and sold in Pole Top Discoveries' February, 2021 auction.

Update, 5:15 P.M. Wednesday, January 24.  Second image added, showing the beautifully executed, fancy "2" that stands in high relief on the reverse dome.
