#1000 CD ??? PAT. OCT. 15 72. Rich aqua. Three segmented threads.
Embossed on base of inner skirt. This is a CD 136.7 with an inner skirt. The dome, wire groove and skirt are all configured differently than a typical CD 158. Perhaps 20 times scarcer than the regular CD 158.
This type insulator was illustrated and described in Partrick & Carter’s 1878 Catalogue, as shown in the third photo. Partrick & Carter, a supply house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, offered insulators with a smooth pinhole, segmented threads, or a regular thread. Note also the claims made in the P&C catalogue, referencing this type insulator as being superior over others.
Second photo shows the size difference of this item on the left, and a larger CD 158 on the right.
Very near mint.
