#1013 CD 120 C.E.W. Aqua. With brass "yoke" and tie wire.
California Electrical Works supplied the embossed CD 120 pony style insulator circa late 1870’s to 1880’s, primarily for use on telephone lines. This unit has a “yoke" and tie wire, part of an arrangement which was applied when the bracket and insulator were mounted to trees. The “swing wire” arrangement allowed for movement of the tree without damaging the insulator. This method also allowed for the line wire to remain straighter when the trees were out of alignment.
Very near mint.
