Description

#1599     CD 125      HEMINGRAY     W.U. NO 5      PATENT MAY 2 1893.        Purple and sage mix.

A Hemingray Glass Company product with a very attractive color mix!  Typically found in aqua glass, a small number were also produced in amethyst coloration.  Some examples are varying shades of solid amethyst coloration and sometimes they are a blend of sage green and amethyst.  This particular example has especially dark amethyst glass, with well pronounced patches of gray-sage, most noticeable in the wire ridges.

Has a faint fracture extending from base to lower wire ridge (can be seen to the left of embossing in photo).  Remainder of insulator is very near mint+ condition.
