Description

#2267      729      Unmarked.       Green.

Beautiful green coloration... and a density that allows light to pass freely through the entire insulator.  Super attractive and rarely encountered color for a 729.  Plus.... a smaller mold variant than is typical for a 729!  Quite an attractive rarity!

The 729 is one of several threadless "compromise" insulators with a concave skirt.  The 729, 731, 732 and other similar designs were quite popular with telegraph companies starting in 1865, and continuing for number of years.

We assume the surface might be a little hazy, as there appears to be a very light clear coat on the insulator surface.  Chip on the top wire ridge (see center of second photo).  Small surface blemishes.

Love the color... it's a rare one!
