#2609 CD 640 VA Green.
The third "Gingerbread Boy" in a color run of five different. This example has more yellow toning in the green than the previous lot.
A glass factory by the name of La Verrerie Ouvriere d’Albi was formed in1896 in the town of Albi, France. Bottles were produced at the glasshouse for a number of years. In 1917, the factory began making insulators for the French National Defense. Various insulators were manufactured at the plant, including the CD 640 Gingerbread Boys with VA marking.
Third image is a vintage illustration of the factory. Courtesy Lis & Jim Bergman.
A wide range of colors were manufactured in the CD 640 with "VA" marking, and this group of five is a start to building a sizable color run.
Very near mint+ condition.
